The Best/Worst of Film in 2019: A Year in Review

Films of 2019

123. After a record low of only seeing 62 films in theaters in 2018, I bounced back in a big way by nearly doubling the amount of films seen and broke 2015’s record of seeing 117 films in theaters. I was able to hit 123 in theaters in 2019, not including the TV shows, Netflix films and Oscar nominated short films that I saw. My numbers will always fluctuate due to work, vacations, personal life, if I am single or not, etc. Since I don’t review films for a living and I do it for you, the reader, I always strive to see at least 100 films in theaters per year and no matter what happens this year in 2020, I am glad I was able to break my personal record in 2019 and expand what I am reviewing on this website as well.

2019 actually ended up being a great year for film, which was very refreshing. Sure, there were disappointments, misfires, terrible movies and box office bombs, but Oscar season came in clutch and there were some gems sprinkled throughout the year.
