62. The number of films I saw in theaters last year for me was the lowest number I have seen since I started really keeping track back in 2015, when I saw 117 films in theaters that year. Seeing as I am not a professional film critic so I don’t go see films Monday through Friday for a job, the business of my life dictates how often I can go see a film. Last year happened to be the busiest year of my life (outside of being active duty in the military) so I was disappointed to only see 62 films. That being said, even though I missed a great deal of films in theaters, I vowed to make up for it this year in 2019 and at the time of posting this, even though I have posted 26 film reviews so far this year, I have seen 41 films in theaters so far this year and it is only April. In addition to seeing more films this year, I am adding Netflix film reviews and trying to watch/review more television shows.
2018 has been like most recent years where there are a lot of mediocre and terrible movies and a few great films. My top 4 films this year all received 9/10, so there was no 10/10 like “Molly’s Game” received last year. That being said, my top 10 best films are all fantastic and worth seeking out and my top 10 worst should be avoided at all costs.
