93. That is the number of films I saw in theaters in 2017, up 5 films from the previous year but still a disappointing 7 shy of 100. 2017 was a rough year for Hollywood. Sexual assault and rape allegations that have been happening for decades in the industry finally have gotten called out and careers have been destroyed in the process. Despite all of the celebrities and their personal lives and the drama they contain, I try to just stick to the films themselves and ignore any outside tabloid gossip that doesn’t apply to the quality of the films themselves. The year overall for film was like most…started average, had a rather disappointing summer and ended strong.
Let’s take a look back at the best and worst films of 2017 so you know which films you still need to check out and which films you should avoid.
