7/10 Often over the top and unrealistic but what makes this a film worth seeing is several things. First off, in an age of remakes, sequels, prequels, etc., this is an original movie that is a throwback to old detective film noirs with the style of the 70s thrown in. Crowe and Gosling have excellent chemistry which makes the film fun. The movie is not hilarious but pretty funny and amusing and bucks the trend of having a stereotypical Hollywood ending with everything wrapped up with a pretty bow on top. If you crave something more original, go see this.
